The River Club is a stunning new Brunch spot in the heart of Cork City. We were treated to a preview a few weeks and ago and loved it. I am always looking for somewhere new to try on our Sunday Dates and often revisit the same places. Me? A creature of habit? Never!! I am familiar with The River Lee hotel, in my youth we spent many a jazz weekend there when it was Jury’s Hotel and was a member of the gym too. I had eaten in The River Lee on a few occasions in recent years but not since it under went a stunning refurbishment. Think of a cool, chilled out New York bar on a weekend and you’ll be almost there.

The new River Club is an Instagram lovers dream. Everything is aesthetically pleasing with photo opps everywhere! Situated right on the River Lee it brings a touch of relaxed glamour. It brings a few weekend options for you at the weekend from friday night cocktails to date night dining and lazy lunches. We must try out all of these but for now let us talk about the Brunch!

The River Club Brunch

Boasting an impressively tasty menu heroing local produce all set to the soundtrack of DJ Fiasco. Hence it’s aptly named ‘Vinyl Brunch’. A range of alcohol free cocktails for those of you wanting to detox or for those of you looking to indulge you can treat yourself to a River Club Mary Mix or a Tommy On The Green. The food is delicious and all tastes are catered for. You will find raw bites, Bircher bowls, granola, fresh fruit, variety of egg dishes and my favourite toasted banana bread. Padraig loved his Brunch Special of smoked bacon, black pudding, poached eggs and a toasted muffin. Prices range from 4 euro to 14 euro so wear your stretchy pants and come hungry!

The River Club Atmosphere

….is relaxed and you can dine outdoors all year round. In winter time the outdoor space has cosy textiles and hot water bottles while in the summer you can relax in the sunshine. Heaven! I have to say that while we were kindly invited in to try the menu we will happily return as paying customers. The food was delicious, atmosphere the right balance of fun and relaxing, staff friendly and of course, there was gin. I would gladly recommend to a friend.
