Face Masks That Really Work – Hydrate, Smooth, Glow

face masks

Face Masks are a regular fixture in my weekly skin care routine. I love them for smoothing, detoxing, boosting radiance or firming my skin. Here I have some really great masks to share with you, all tested by me and some holy grail’s! You might consider introducing face masks to your skincare routine as they can help target specific skin concerns such as:

  • Dehydration
  • Excess Oil
  • Clogged Pores
  • Dull Complexion
  • Fine Lines

They also help you relax. Self Care is a big thing for 2018 and taking 10 – 20 minutes to apply a face mask is a great way to take some time to yourself and switch off. Some give those instant results that you want. I always mask up before special events to give my skin an extra glow. Sundays are also prime masking days!!

Deep Cleansing Face Masks

After exfoliation (read my exfoliation tips HERE.) the first mask I like to apply is a deep cleansing mask. This helps with clogged pores and gives my skin that really clean feeling. My recommendations include:

Primark Deep Cleansing Bubble Mask costs 1 euro and really does a good job at cleaning out those pores. You apply like a gel and it bubbles up into a foam. I think the PS masks are great value for money. The smoothing mask is amazing if you have a breakout so pick up a few the next time you are in store.

Yonka Masque 105 is a clarifying mask that purifies the skin. I don’t have oily skin but this is suitable for dry skin so I love it. Three different clay’s leave your skin smooth, radiant and clean. Great news is you can now shop Yonka online so purchase HERE for 37 euro.

Shiseido Purifying Peel Off Mask is another great option for refining those pesky pores. This mask is a new release for Shiseido and I wasn’t allowed talk about it untill now! I have been dying to tell you about it as I have been using it since July. A beautifully bright pearly red mask it peels off to reveal smooth skin. Containing red shiso and antipollution ingredients it is a lovely mask. Anyone else find peeling masks so satisfying? You can purchase HERE.

Origins Ginzing Peel Off Mask Contains coffee beans, panax ginseng and gentle fruit acid to help lift dull, dead skin and dirt for a smoother finish. I have only been using this for a few weeks but I like it enough to try some more products from the brand. It costs under 30 euro HERE.

Hydrating Face Masks

Image Skin Care Biomolecular Hydrating Recovery Mask is my all time holy grail, can’t live without face mask. Do not under estimate the power of this mask at transforming your skin into something beautiful. A winter essential!! 11.50 each from your nearest Image stockist. You can read more about my thoughts on Image Skincare HERE.

Clarins SOS Hydra Mask is the face version of my holy grail eye mask  and I love it. It is soothing and refreshing. The mask has a lovely gel cream texture which isn’t too heavy. I would say if you have oily but dehydrated skin then you will love this. 38 euro HERE and a little goes a long way.

Declare Ocean’s Best Mask gives the skin an instant boost of hydration to plump fine lines and improve skin texture. It works in 10 minutes so a good option for a quick boost! You can buy for 29.95 euro HERE.

Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra Mask is for all of you dry and sensitive girls. It is soothing and gives a lovely hydrated glow to the skin. My skin drinks this up without irritation. The mask contains maqui berry oil and nourishing sweet almond to protect, hydrate, and calm reactive skin. You can buy HERE.

Casmara Anti Oxidant Balancing and Calming Peel Off Mask is a new product to me. A bit fiddly as you have to mix it up yourself but it’s the closest to an in salon mask I have tried. Thick and luxurious it dries to a gel texture that peels off easily. It was cooling and soothing on my skin. Find out more HERE.

Face Masks To Give You That Glow

Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask is a miracle in a tube. It gives the most beautiful instant glow to your skin. I love this and have purchased a second tube. Formulated with hyaluronic acid to boost moisture levels, Moringa Oleifera seed oil to leave skin feeling more vibrant and firm and Amino acid to brighten the skin and improves clarity. You can buy HERE.

Yonka Excellence Code Instant Lift and Radiance Mask is the mask I turn to when my skin feels saggy and dull. It gives a satisfying tightening effect and a beautiful glow from within. It is 69 euro HERE and lasts for ages.

Pixi Glow Mud Mask could be under the Deep Cleansing title as it contains purifying kaolin clay and sea salt to draw out embedded impurities and quickly recapture skin’s clarity. However it also boasts brightening ginseng and healing jojoba to instantly ‘perk up’ your complexion. Under 20 euro its a great affordable option HERE.

Garnier Skin Active Glow Shot Tissue Mask is packed full of Vitamin C so brighten a dull complexion. You mix it yourself when you want to use it. The tissue mask soaks up the serum and turns into a gel texture mask that feels beautiful on the skin. For under 5 euro you can’t go wrong HERE.

The Miracle Face Mask

The Yonka Sensitive Masque is soothing and calming for sensitive skin prone to redness. I had an event a few weeks ago and my skin had a horrible reaction to a mask I was trying. I applied this mask and it calmed, soothed and made my skin look new again. I can not tell you how fantastic this product is. 47.50 euro HERE and I will not be without it now.

There you have all of my favourite masks! I am constantly trying out new products so tell me your favourite mask under my latest instagram post so I can try it for myself!
