The Lake Hotel Killarney was the very first Hotel my now Husband brought me to in the early days. For that reason, it has always felt really special when we stay there. We have made Killarney a regular destination for an overnight break away. It is an easy hour and a bit drive from Cork. After staying in several hotels, we always return to The Lake Hotel Killarney. It is reasonable priced for the little taste of luxury you get. If you are after sleek modern interiors, it won’t be for you! The hotel has an old charm from the moment you step in the door.
The Lake Hotel Killarney – The Room
We always book the same room. The Master Deluxe Lake View Room. With this room you get a large living space, King Sized bed, sitting area, balcony AND a jacuzzi bath in room. The jacuzzi placed in front of the window, overlooking the Killarney Lakes is very very romantic.
All facilities available including mini fridge, safe, wardrobe, desk, tea, coffee, water and a power shower. Robes, slippers and towels are also in the room waiting for you. The bed is extremely comfortable. I have had some of my best nights sleep here. From the balcony you can sit and enjoy the view or read a book in complete peace and quiet. You can usually enjoy the deer that roam about the grounds or wade through the water.
Dining Options In The Lake Hotel Killarney
You can enjoy breakfast in room, bar food at lunch time or fine dining in the Hotel restaurant. We have enjoyed them all over various visits. The breakfast is particularly good and the perfect way to start a day of exploring Killarney town or National Park.
Depending on what you want to eat I can recommend both the bar food and the fine dining. The Gin and Tonic is particularly good! Afterwards you can explore the Hotel grounds. Walk out to the waters edge and just sit and breathe.
The Verdict
If you are looking for a break away with your significant other then The Lake Hotel Killarney is perfect. Peaceful, relaxing and containing everything you need to switch off.
