Laura Mercier is a brand I’m sure many of you are familiar with. I love the highlighting bricks and my sister can’t be without the body products. I have wanted to try some of the base makeup for a while now. Feeling like the luckiest gal in the world a few weeks ago, I opened a package of PR samples. Inside was the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation, Candleglow Powder, Invisible Setting Powder and the Face Illuminator. Watching Tati rave about the foundation has made me long to try it for a while now. I always trust her opinions! I obviously wanted to make up my own mind though and offer my thoughts on the product. So I’ll break each product into a paragraph and share my thoughts with you all.
Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation
Now, this was the product I was most excited to try. I love a full coverage foundation. I need it to last all day without looking caked up. This promises 15 hour comfort wear without oxidizing. The shades I have are 1w1 Ivory and 2c1 Ecru. Neither one an exact match but mixed together it was perfect. I’ve tested this foundation with both a foundation brush and a beauty blender. I did prefer the finish of the beauty blender. The foundation left my skin looking smooth and I didn’t have to build it up to get the coverage I wanted. It didn’t settle in my fine lines either.
It dries down to a matte finish but more of a satin matte. I just loved how it made my skin look even. The foundation wore really well and didn’t irritate my skin. I did set this down with a light dusting of powder but I don’t think this is a necessary step. My other products sat on top really nicely too. All in all this gets a thumbs up from me and I will repurchase it. I also think I want to try the Candleglow Foundation next and the tinted moisturiser. So many of you have recommended these to me already! You can buy Flawless Fusion HERE and for reference if I was to purchase this again I would go for the shade Dune.
Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder
I rarely get along with a setting powder. Having 37 year old skin thats prone to dehydration can make loose powders tricky for me. I used this to set my under eye concealer and my skin looked so smooth. It was by description invisible! The powder is finely milled and feels very silky. Even between the finger tips, it feels beautiful. I did try this to set other areas of my face and it made me look a little dry. However, I will continue to use this to set my under eyes and maybe purchase the famous translucent powder to set the rest of my face. So many of you have also recommended that as a holy grail! You can purchase HERE.
Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder
Now. NOW I tell you. This is a beauty. I haven’t put it down since I first tried it. A complete slave to my Chanel Les Beige Pressed Powder for many months. Declared it a holy grail and that I could never be without it. This has replaced it. Sorry Chanel!! Candleglow gives the skin the most beautiful soft focus effect. It never looks caked and leaves everything looking smooth. I’m unsure how my oily gals will feel about this one but if you have dry skin like me? Buy it, don’t waste another day. I have the shade 2 Light and you can purchase HERE
Laura Mercier Face Illuminator
Who doesn’t love a highlight? Who doesn’t love a really beautiful looking highlight? My shade is Addiction. A stunning gold highlight with rose gold reflex. This looks amazing with a bronzed, glowy makeup look. You can apply wet, dry, with fingers or with a brush. I’ve done all of the above and love it. I got the most impact by applying to my face, then setting with spray. While the spray is still wet, apply another light dusting. Boom! You are a glowy goddess. You can purchase your own one HERE.
Louise has fallen in love with this brand. I am 100% going to purchase a few other items to try based on your recommendations. My followers rarely set me wrong!! Up next will be some lip products, tinted moisturiser, translucent powder and the secret eye brightening powder I think! Anything else I should try? Let me know over on Instagram HERE.
