Urban Veda is a brand that is completely new to me. I was invited to meet with them last week for a mini facial treatment and to learn more about this cruelty free skincare brand. Inspired by the principles of Ayurveda and is free from Paraben’s, Artificial Colours, SLS, Mineral Oil and GM Ingredients. It is also not tested on animals. It is designed to help skin become less vulnerable to environmental factors such as stress, temperature and dehydration.
Urban Veda Skin Types.
I completed the answers to a few questions to determine which skin concerns I had. It was decided that I had a Pitta skin type that required some products from the soothing range. The other types covered by Urban Veda are tri-doshic, kapha and vata. I love that all concerns are catered for here. You can even mix products to get the most from your skincare routine. They first used the Soothing Facial Wash on me followed by the Soothing Facial Polish. After cleansing my face, they then used the most beautiful Soothing Facial Oil and Soothing Day Cream. My skin felt so soft and plump afterwards.
Urban Veda Product Range
Kapha or Oil Prone Skin: This range is energising, stimulating, detoxifying and invigorates mind and body. It contains Aloe Vera Juice, Bearberry, Black Mulberry, Eucalyptus, Orange, Quassia, Sweet Almond, Spearmint, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel. The star ingredient is Cold Pressed Neem Oil which is naturally healing and antiseptic.
Vata or Dry/Dull Skin: This range has my favourite scent. It smells so so good thanks to the Cedarwood, Coriander, Marigold, Orange, Papaya, Patchouli, Pomegranate and Sweet Almond it contains. I am definitely going to purchase the body products in this range as well as the oils.
Tri-Doshic or Mature Skin: The star ingredient here is Santalum Album- Sandalwood Oil sourced from India. It is anti imflammatory and effective at relieving dehydrated skin. Other ingredients include Rose Water, Pomegranate Juice, Rosehip, Starflower, Evening Primrose, Jasmine, Witch Hazel, Milled Peach and Rose Geranium.
Pitta or Distressed Skin: This is the range that was used on me. It contains Rose Flower Extract, Orange, Myrrh, Lavender, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, Rosemary, Palmarosa, Clary Sage, Peppermint and Sweet Almond. I have a starter pack from this range that I am currently trialling so I will keep you updated!
Urban Veda Final Thoughts
My first thought when I used the products was that it smelled like I was in a spa. Scent is hugely important, especially when you are looking for those five minutes at home to relax. As a working mother, trying to juggle everything, this is what I love about these products. I love the variety in the range and that they are for a different purpose. Holistic, cruelty free skincare is important and I for one am glad to see more and more brands pop up that are accessible to everyone. Follow me on Instagram as I try more from this brand and update you with results as I go.
