Kicking off 2018 on the blog with a brand focus post on YSL Beauty. I recently reviewed the All Hours foundation here. With so much love for that product I wanted to try some other items from the brand. Over the last few months I have picked up a primer, mascara, highlight and lip product that I will discuss below.

YSL Beauty All Hours Foundation

With a full review of this foundation already on the website, I’ll keep this short and sweet! This foundation quickly became one of my favourites in 2017. It gave great coverage that layered without caking, lasted all day at work and looked beautiful on the skin. I wore shade B30 during the day and B50 at night time with self tanner and it has yet to let me down. You can purchase here.

YSL Beauty Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer

I must admit it was appearance that first drew me to this primer. The bottle is so beautiful. Containing a clear product inside flecked with gold particles. It looks luxurious. Don’t worry though, you are not left with bits of gold all over your face! This primer is not as thick as I thought it would be. Which is a bonus in my opinion as it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It feels quite wet after you apply so i like to let it sink in for a few minutes before applying foundation over top. My skin does feel moisturized, and imperfections are blurred. However if you want a primer to fill your pores, this isn’t the one for you. I love this because my skin feels smooth and hydrated. You can buy it for 38 euro here.

YSL Touche Eclat Glow Shot Cream Highlighter

What can I say about this beauty. I love it. Used on its own or layered under powder highlight, it gives you the most beautiful glow. The product is easy to blend, doesn’t remove your foundation underneath and leaves a stunning sheen to the skin. You can purchase for 25 euro here.

YSL Beauty Faux Cils Mascara

This used to be a favourite of mine 10 years ago when I had money to throw around on mascara. After I had Finn and my beauty budget became a little tighter, I switched to budget buys. Mostly because this mascara used to dry out incredibly quickly. However, the formula has changed in recent years so I decided to revisit. A few pointers when using this, make sure you are closing the lid all the way untill you feel the click and wipe the wand once a week to avoid clumping. I love this for lengthening my lashes. It takes a couple of coats for volume but it builds up really nicely and doesn’t flake during the day. You can buy here for 33 euro.

YSL Beauty Tatouage Couture Matte Liquid Lipstick

I am always on the hunt for the perfect matte liquid lipstick. I suffer extremely dry lips so most matte lipsticks drive me crazy! This is unlike your typical liquid lipsticks. The formula is thin, almost like a stain. Some people hate that, I personally love it. The first night I wore this, I did not like it. I realized it I had put it on over a balm so it didn’t ‘stick’. Applied to dry lips? It lasts all day. The shade I have is 16, which is an everyday pink nude. The applicator is really unique as you can use the sharp edge to line the lips and wide part to fill in with product. It also layers without cracking. You can buy for 35 euro here.

There you have it guys! My brand focus on YSL Beauty. I have a few more products that I want to try. I currently have a sample of the Touche Eclat foundation that I am trialing so keep an eye on my Instagram here or add me on Snapchat @Louiseocon.ie.

What is your favourite YSL product?
