Athleisure is one of those trends you will love or hate. Love it or hate it, it isn’t going anywhere right now. High end jogging bottoms, jeans with side stripes and hooded sweat shirts are popping up all over so we might need to get on board. Personally, January is one of those funny months where the pounds have gathered after Christmas, the weather seems colder and more gloomy and I am welcoming anything with an elasticated waist band with open arms. As a mother, I welcome the trend with open arms! Doing the school run, dropping to activities, grocery shopping etc, it can be hard to look put together and be comfortable at the same time. Here are some of the pieces I have my eye on.
Levi’s are famous for their denim but their tee’s, sweatshirts and hoodies have been trending in 2017. Coming into 2018 i think this white hoodie paired with a leather jacket and straight black denim jeans will keep you comfy while looking presentable. it costs £50 here.
Stripes are where it is at with the Athleisure trend and this Vera Moda sweatshirt is subtle enough for those of you on the fence. You can purchase for £30 here.
Ever so slightly obsessed with this sweatshirt from Sportmax Code. The horse’s maine is fringe. FRINGE. It went straight to the top of my wishlist. Pricey at £155 but I love. Buy it here.
Want a piece that is ever so slightly dressier? Zara have you covered with this classic white blouse. It’s been jazzed up with the addition of velvet stripe trim. Budget friendly 29.99 euro here.
Another hoodie with a twist is this one from & Other Stories. The sequinned bird detail on the back saves it and I am also putting this on my wishlist! Buy for 89 euro here.
How fab are these side stripe trousers from Y.A.S? I love them! You could dress these up or down so definitely a versatile piece to have. You can buy them for £50 here.
Denim is also in on the trend with side stripes popping up on denim all over! I love these by Monki for £50 here.
These ones from Whistles are priority on my wishlist!! These will see you right through summer. Buy for £129 here.
Zara also have plenty of choices including these jogging trousers for under 30 euro here.
Topshop are combing two trends in one with these check trousers, slouch fit and side stripes! Bag them for £49 here.
Sports Wear You Can Wear Outside The Gym
P.E. Nation is a brand you can buy on Net A Porter and I am in love with it. Gym gear that is way too stylish to be worn in the gym! Like these leggings for 140 euro here.
Or sweatshirt for 150 euro here.
What you wear on the outside can be just as casual but equally on trend. Bomber jackets are set to be a key piece in Athleisure wear and there are a number of options available. These two from Boohoo have a laid back safari feel and with the neutral colours, you can match them to pieces already in your wardrobe. Boohoo have 20% off untill midnight so have a browse here.
I’m also obsessed with this beauty from Maje if you feel like a bit of colour coming into Spring! Its on sale right now reduced to 112 euro here.
On The Foot
Anyone who is following me on Instagram here or Snapchat @Louiseocon.ie will know I have a slight obsession with runners. They are part of my uniform! Cortez by Nike are my most worn style and I shall be purchasing one of these styles soon! Especially the gold ones here or black ones here. Both are 79 euro.
The options are endless with this trend and there pieces out there for all budgets and all styles. You can make this trend fit in with any aesthetic and even the fussiest of fashionistas will stumble upon one item they want to spend money on. What are your thoughts? Yay or Nay to Athleisure?
