The Shoe Suite – Cork’s Hidden Treasure Trove

The Shoe Suite is located on Maylor’s Street, Cork City. Nestled amid some of my favourite shopping destinations like Debenhams and Brown Thomas, I must have passed it a hundred times without going in. I visited last Thursday to scout out some shoes for this Christmas Gift Guide. When I posted on Instagram Stories (follow me here.) a lot of you guys had never been either. I can’t understand why!! They have the most amazing stock of footwear and accessories from brands like Kendall and Kylie, Nine West, Marion, Paul Green, Ugg and Hunter to name a few.

The shop is HUGE!!!! I walked in and it was literally my shoe heaven. A treasure trove of shoes if you will. For those of you who might have missed my Instagram stories, I have put together my top picks for Christmas Gifting from the store. I have categorized them according to budget and I have chosen pieces for all occasions and taste. Shoes make the perfect gift to yourself or that shoe lover in your life!! If you keep reading all the way to the end I will give you details of an amazing competition I will be running too!!

The Shoe Suite – Footwear Under 100 euro

The pieces in this category are the most amazing quality basics that everyone needs in their footwear arsenal. Toms are a classic comfort shoe and while some might associate them with summer, The Shoe Suite have these black suede editions with a thicker sole that are perfect for winter.

You absolutely need a black Chelsea Boot. They are the kind of boot that will take you from year to year. When you have a classic style like this, investing in a quality pair is a smart move. All three of these come in under 100 euro. The buckles add a nice twist, you have a classic option or a slight heel for a more dressier Chelsea Boot.

The Shoe Suite – Footwear Under 150 euro

The store carries some beautiful pieces from Nine West. This is one of my personal favourite shoe brands and brings me back to my younger days shopping in NYC. I love the booties, the sling backs and the nude sandals. Again these are classic pieces that will never date.

Now I hadn’t heard of the brand Marian untill I visited the Shoe Suite. I must say, they have the most amazing shoes! Really on trend with the shape and cut of the shoes. Designer inspired at a much more affordable price. Of course, The Shoe Suit on Maylor’s Street carries Marian shoes and I could not be happier!!

How stunning are the pearls on these court shoes? Such a fab twist on a classic shoe!

These boots immediately grabbed my attention. Military boots are a huge trend for the coming season with offerings from Chloe and Kurt Geiger. These fall at a very affordable 150 euro and they came straight home with me!!! I would run and buy these while they are in stock. Similar boots have been seen on Pippa O Connor and Emma Hill.

The Shoe Suite – Footwear Under 250 euro

Now if your budget allows, The Shoe Suite has some incredible premium quality footwear in stock. I think these two are completely different styles but stunning none the less. A chunky boot is another hot trend for this winter, so the silver hardware on these black ones is ideal for layering up with cosy knitwear and socks. I loved the star detailing on the distressed brown leather. Again, the quality of the leather is superb.

Now, we move onto Kendall and Kylie. I did not know that there was a stockist here in Cork and I’m so excited that The Shoe Suite stock the brand. I fell in love with the zipper detail on the front of these beauties. They retail for 180 euro.

I may have left the shop the proud owner of these Khaki, pointed toe Chelsea Boots and I am in love!! They retail at 225 euro but the quality and fit have to be seen to be believed. Studded detailing along the back of the boot give them something a bit extra. The pointed toe really elongates the leg and they are now my prized possession!!!

The Shoe Suite – The Comfortable Edit

When it comes to winter and comfort, nothing says cosy like a pair of UGG boots. They are marmite. You will wither love them or hate them. Personally I love the slippers and I think the tassled boots in the middle photo bring a more fashionable edge to the UGG name.

The Shoe Suite also has a large selection of trainers. These Paul Green ones are gorgeous. The staff in store told me they are one of the most popular brands they stock and I can see why. As a busy mom who lives in trainers, I think these are a beautiful alternative to the usually colours and styles.

The store also has these very funky styles from the brand Hogl. I think they are very designer inspired and velvet is another huge trend this season. They are so different I am sure you will get lots of interest when wearing them.

Also great news for my taller friends as they have a whole range of shoes that go up to a size 9. If you struggle to find footwear to fit, The Shoe Suite have you covered. These are a classic loafer that will never go out of style and a fraction of the price of their designer counter parts.

Finally, they also stock Hunter Boots. I bought a pair of tall Hunter Boots also. I think these will see you through winter and right into festival season through the summer. Again, I am delighted to see a stockist of these in Cork City.

The Shoe Suite – My Verdict

I think that this shop is an absolute gem in our City. The quality of the footwear really impressed me as well as the range of sizes, styles and finishes. They are really accessible with some of the City’s car parks just a stroll away. I was just there for a couple of hours on Thursday and the customer service really had that personal touch. Something you won’t find when shopping in the larger chain stores. The shop was full of all ages and each one got the attention they needed. The staff seemed really proud of what their store had to offer and a credit to The Shoe Suite. I certainly will be returning for future purchases and recommending them to all of my friends and family.

Not limited just to ladies shoes, they also sell some gorgeous accessories and mens footwear. So why not pop in the next time you are in town?
