The Naked Heat Palette is the latest in the Urban Decay Naked family. It was hotly anticipated to be the palette of 2017 after the release was announced earlier in the year. Released first in the USA, us Irish beauty bloggers watched as our American counterparts raved about it. The palette hit Urban Decay counters in August. I raced down to get my hands on it! A warm eyeshadow palette with cranberries, burnt oranges and smokey purples had my name written all over it. While it may have been the palette of the summer, I have waited untill Autumn to write about it. Is it not the perfect Autumnal eyeshadow palette?
The packaging of this palette is unlike any of its siblings. A smooth sturdy case holds a high quality mirror, 12 beautiful eyeshadows and a dual ended brush. The colour scheme of the packaging represents the beauty of the shades inside. Rich browns, golds and reds. It is extremely instagramable! Are you following me on instagram? Have a look HERE.
Naked Heat Palette Shades and Swatches
The palette comes with a mix of shimmer, metallic and matte shadows. Each one is as wearable as the next. Let us start with the matte shades. They are soft, buttery and so easy to blend. There is a great choice of transition colours and shades to smoke out the eyes. All the shades are warm and wearable. I do however feel the palette needed a yellow or true orange to add a little contrast as the darker colours can blend into each other. This would not put me off though.
The shimmer shades are what make this palette really special. Richly pigmented and beautiful. The swatches here are one swipe of a finger, without primer and dry. I have also used these wet to really intensify the effect and it is stunning. Again, I wish there was a gold shimmer or something to give a more alternative look. The colours are so similar it can be hard to create looks that are obviously different. Used in compliment to the Naked family however, this palette is a must.
I adore this palette. The shades are right up my street and I reach for it time and time again. I loved this so much that I bought it for my sister for her birthday. She also loves it. It was the only palette I brought on holidays with me. I would 100% recommend it to a friend. Have you tried it?
