Introducing the Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette! The minute I saw this palette on the Urban Decay social media account I knew I would want to buy it. I eagerly awaited the release date. This Shapeshifter Palette was released on June 8th and I was first in the queue to buy it. Did I need another contour palette? Nope! Did I want another contour palette? Yes! Those of you that have followed me for a while will know I have a bit of a love affair with Urban Decay. Every year at Christmas time my mother buys us the latest eyeshadow palette. It’s our thing! Urban Decay had three new launches in store on June 8th but the Shapeshifter palette is what I had set my sights on.
What Is The Shapeshifter Palette?
The Naked Skin Shapeshifter Palette is a three in one complexion palette designed to colour correct, contour and highlight. This palette has five creams and four powders. On one side you have two cream contours, two cream colour correctors and one cream highlight. On the other side you have two contour powders, one light contour and one powder highlight.
Urban Decay revealed the palette would allow us to contour the Naked way. The powders are finely milled and the creams are easy to blend. With colours that are buildable and designed for layering you can achieve your desired look. The Shapeshifter palette comes in ‘light to medium’ and ‘medium to dark’ so there is a shade for everyone. Designed for travel, you can take this on the go! The Palette has a very clever double mirror to separate the creams from the powders.
The pigmentation of this palette is incredible! I swatched the powders first and the pay off is impressive. You will only need the smallest amount of product on your brush to create a beautiful contour. The cream shades were soft and blended really easily with both a brush and a beauty blender.
I loved using this palette. It has everything I need to create the contour I want. Subtle for day time or more dramatic for a night out. The highlight is stunning with the cream highlight perfect for subtle strobing. I love that you can use this palette for everything! I tested it out on top of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation and they work in perfect harmony.
I love everything about this palette. The concept is excellent, the value for money and the usability. It looks great on your vanity table and it fits in your handbag. It retails for 47.50 euro. That may seem pricey but you get nine pans at 5.20 a product. Not bad!! Do I think this product will change your life? Probably not. If you own a million highlighters and contour products already the you won’t need this. If you are a make up junkie like me and love Urban Decay? Go for it. One of their better new releases!
