Tanya Burr is a Youtuber I have been following for years now. When she released her line of cosmetics I had wanted to try them but they were not readily available in Ireland. Now that Superdrug is opened in Liffey Valley, lines like this are finally accessible to us Irish beauty addicts. I was in Dublin for a few events recently and made a visit to Liffey Valley on the way home. Some of the items on my hit list were of course from Tanya Burr. I picked up an eyeshadow palette, face palette and a lipstick. Were they worth the wait? Even worth the hype?
Tanya Burr Eyeshadow Palette: My Escape
This palette is one of her newer releases from the Neutral Ambiance Collection. I have so many brown toned eyeshadows already I chose to purchase the My Escape palette. I rarely wear green toned shadows and these looked beautiful. The packaging is a bit bulky but it does come with a mirror.
The colours swatch nicely on the hand. The white shade isn’t very pigmented but it did a nice job at setting my eyeshadow primer. The two matte shades need a bit of blending and building but are beautiful colours. The shimmer shade swatched a lot more pigmented than it applied. I ended up using a bit of Fix Plus on my brush to get maximum pay off.
Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Face Palette
Now this was the product I was most excited about. It is so easy to visually compare this to the Too Faced Peach palette. It is of course a fraction of the price. The palette again has the same cardboard packaging as the eyeshadow palette and mirror. It is a very pretty palette and I loved the embossing on the powders. You get a bronzer, a blush and a highlighter.
The palette swatches beautifully. The colours are pigmented and feel smooth. The bronzer may be too warm to contour for some but I quite like it. The blush is a peach shade that will suit most complexions. The highlighter doesn’t appear that pigmented but once applied to the face is very flattering. When it catches the light it gives that lit from within glow.
Tanya Burr Lipstick
First up she got her lipstick packaging spot on. It is stunning and looks far more expensive than it is. The shade I picked was Pink Cocoa, a pink nude that is easy for anyone to wear. The formula is smooth and initially feels hydrating. It glides on and feels quite nice on the lips.
As it is a moisturizing lipstick it doesn’t have hours of staying power but I did find it lasted a reasonable length of time. My lips felt a bit dry after a time so I felt the need to reapply to add moisture. It layered nicely without caking or cracking. My one negative is that my lipstick broke from the base on my first night. Not what I’d expect from a 10 euro lipstick. I wanted to give this a longer road test for this blog post but my first night impressions will have to do!
I did enjoy playing with my new products. I have wrinkly eyelids (hello 36) and I found the powdery texture did enhance that a bit. The colours were lovely though. I’m unsure if I’d repurchase but I will use this palette again. I adore the face palette. I’ve been using it daily since I bought it. I would have continued to enjoy the lipstick if it hadn’t broken but such is life! Try these products for yourself, especially as the issues I had with them were personal ones and you may not have the same experience. If you can only buy one? Make it the face palette!
