Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours are a new offering from the Rimmel Lip range. I find budget liquid lipsticks hit or miss to be honest but I am a fan of Rimmel lipsticks in general. The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour range comes in fourteen shades. I have five shades featured here in this post. They promise a comfortable, velvet finish with one swipe colour. Did they live up to the claims?
Rimmel Stay Matte Swatches
On first impressions these swatched very pigmented. Vivid colour that dried quickly to a matte finish. The pink and the red shade really impressed me. The nudes looked beautiful. How did they wear on the lips?
How Did They Wear?
Lets begin with the two nude colours. They applied like a dream. The formula felt comfortable after drying. Both colours were flattering on my skin tone and were subtle enough to wear to work. Here are photo’s of them on the lips. I love both of these colours.
The darker shades were a little bit more tricky to apply. I just used the wand for the purpose of this review. It was tricky to get an even application around the lip line. I wish the wand was a bit smaller and firmer for this. The pink and red shade are beautiful with the same comfortable formula as the nude shades. Applying the burgundy colour was the most difficult and the application was patchy. Outside of this review I would happily wear them again. I would just apply a lip liner and maybe use a lip brush for precise application.
I wore the shade Be My Baby on my night shift last Friday night. It lasted at least 6 hours without fading. When it did fade, it wore evenly. I did find myself wetting my lips but that is just me! I can’t help it when I’m wearing a matte lip. It did feel comfortable to wear and I will certainly be wearing it again. For a price of 7.99 euro you can’t go wrong. They are currently on 3 for 2 in boots. You can buy online HERE.
