Hands up I’m a lipstick addict. If I spot a new addition on my weekly trip to Boots then I’m all over it! Last week while I was browsing, I came across a new member of the Revlon family called Ultra HD Gel Lipstick. I was mostly drawn towards the very pretty packaging and then had a swatch on my hand. It was instant love. What’s better is that they were on a 3 for 2 offer. I grabbed my favourite three and off I went to the till.
Firstly the packaging of the Ultra HD Gel Lipsticks is beautiful. Metallic, mirrored, slim cases help this lipstick stand out from the rest. The product feels weighty in your hands and you could be forgiven for thinking they were a bit more high end. I just thought the packaging was really clever and a bit luxurious. If I had one critique its that the plastic cap lets it down ever so slightly. If the cap match the body of the case it would have gotten 10 out of 10.
The three colours from the Ultra HD Gel Lipstick range I chose were Tropical, Coral and Vineyard. I gravitate towards these colours always as they suit my colouring and are easy to wear for day time. The coral and topical will be perfect for summer and the vineyard is a nice alternative to a beige nude. Now, how did they swatch?
The swatched like a dream. The colour glided easily onto my skin and I was immediately impressed wit the pigmentation. There was no dragging and I didn’t need to use pressure to get a good colour pay off. I couldn’t wait to get these on my lips and test them out.
Tropical is a beautifully bright pink colour that I think I will be wearing all summer long. I love a pink lip now that the days are brighter and the sun is coming out to play.
Coral is the perfect peach/orange colour without being too in your face. If summer had a lip colour I feel that this would be it!
Now Vineyard is the most flattering dark pink nude. It immediately brightens your smile and will match a variety of looks.
Overall, the Ultra HD Gel Lipsticks by Revlon were very comfortable to wear. They lasted well throughout a day of shopping. They have a lovely glossy finish without being sticky and felt very moisturizing on the lips. Once the gloss faded I was left with a colour stain that lasted through a lunch and a few drinks. I love when a lipstick leaves a colour behind instead of fading into patchiness. I will be purchasing other colours from the range and I’ looking forward to wearing these over the summer months.
They retail for 11.49 euro each and Boots have 12 colours online which you can purchase HERE.
