Penny’s Master Eyeshadow Palette

When I saw Penny’s had brought out an €8 Eyeshadow Palette I grabbed it and eagerly set to work swatching. I thought for the price tag there wouldn’t be much love lost if it turned out to be unwearable. I was pleasantly surprised!! It was soft and pigmented. Just what I look for in an Eyeshadow.

You can’t write about this Palette and ignore the fact that it is an obvious dupe for a very popular brand but at a €60 price difference. While I have to say I don’t think it quite lives up to the quality of the better known one, it does however try it’s best. Again, for the price tag of €8 it really isn’t that bad at all.

The palette has 3 matte shades including a highlight, transition shade and a black. Then you have 9 shimmer shades although I would call 2 of these satin. They are very wearable warm, bronze/gold shades. You can create a very nice day look or vamp it up for a smokey night time look.

These swatches are on bare skin but I would advice using your favourite eye primer before using. I’d also suggest using Fix Plus or Eye drops to intensify the shimmer shades for your evening look. Hey I do this with my more expensive shadows so I wouldn’t hold this against this one.

Verdict: Worth the €8 price tag but there are better palettes out there if you wait and spend a little more.
